Serves as Database Administrator, supporting the Agency in performing complex professional and advisory functions.
Reviews and provides technical assistance and advice on database and application design.
Administers, monitors, tunes, and maintains the database management systems and databases.
Develops and maintains programs, procedures, and scripts to enhance database handling.
Secures all database software and systems implementing the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP).
Evaluates benefits and impacts of new releases, fixes, or new development products.
Coordinates or conducts training and education for various application development groups.
Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years from relevant categories:
- College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline.
- Work experience in IT-related functions.
5+ years of professional experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing information systems.
5+ years of experience administering, monitoring, tuning, and securing relational database environments.
5+ years of experience using advanced SQL (Structured Query Language) for database management, reporting, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
2+ years of leading the design and implementation of the Principle of Least Privilege security discipline for a SQL based relational database management system.
