About the role

  • Under general direction of the Deputy Director of Training, serves as the Manager of Basic and Part-Time Training.
  • Organizes, plans, and evaluates the Part-Time Basic Training Program.
  • Serves as full line supervisor.
  • Speaks on behalf of the Deputy Director of Training regarding programmatic policies and procedures for the Basic and Part-Time Training Programs.
  • Conducts special and routine projects, often of a sensitive and confidential nature, for the Deputy Director of Training and Executive Director.
  • On behalf of the Deputy Director of Training and/or Executive Director, serves on various committees.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
  • Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm; Work Location: 500 S 9th St, Springfield, Illinois; potential for a hybrid remote work schedule upon becoming fully trained.

Requirements

  • Four years of college, preferably with courses in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field
  • Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a sworn law enforcement capacity, including administration and basic patrol duties
