About the role

  • Join our team at IEMA-OHS as we seek a Section Manager to lead our Critical Infrastructure Section!
  • This role sets the vision, policies, procedures, and operational direction for a statewide program dedicated to safeguarding essential systems and services.
  • The Section Manager will prepare budget and strategic plans for the Critical Infrastructure Protection Section and ensure the Section is operating effectively and efficiently both internally and externally.
  • This multifaceted position presents a unique opportunity to leave a lasting imprint on the safety and security of the State of Illinois.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
  • Eight (8) years of professional experience planning and directing the implementation of programs/units/initiatives in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Public Safety role is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing comprehensive strategic, operational, and technical guidance.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience with most of the work including projects directly related to safety preparedness, public-private coordination, or a combination thereof.
  • Must possess strong organization skills, ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, handle last-minute changes and multiple tasks.
  • Master’s Degree with courses in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Public Administration, Public Health, or a related field is preferred.
