About the role
- Provides fiscal expertise in the development of the agency budgets management plan and final budget, apportionment and allocation of funds, expenditure monitoring and control.
- Provides budget guidelines to facilities and other business units in areas of headcount limitations and budget allocation development.
- Directs development and design of appropriate forms, instructions and procedures manuals necessary for proper budget and fiscal control.
- Provides fiscal training to Agency business office staff and utilizes state vehicle to travel as required.
- Serves as full line supervisor.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requirements
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in accounting and fiscal management.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in an accounting or fiscal management organization.
- Prefers at least two (2) years’ experience coordinating projects with teams in various locations via phone, email, or web conference.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in a public or private sector conducting fiscal duties that require knowledge of state or governmental appropriation structures.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience managing and implementing a budget for a private or public organization.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience with enterprise resource and planning software such as SAP.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Prefers at least four (4) years of experience managing and implementing a budget for a private or public organization.
- Prefers at least four (4) years of experience working with state or governmental appropriation structures in a public or private organization.
- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
