About the role
- Performs highly responsible functions as the technical specialist for the Individual Processing Division (IPD).
- Coordinates the development and implementation of any system changes requested by IPD section supervisors and Division Manager.
- Examines, researches, and adjusts the more technical/complex/controversial tax accounts.
- Serves as the leader of year-end testing and any other major projects within IPD as assigned by the Division or Bureau Managers.
- Compiles, prepares, and monitors various statistical and management information reports.
- Evaluates and monitors legislation impacting IPD, prepares impact statements, and recommends changes to proposed legislative proposals to enhance efficiency of processing and tax collection.
- Serves as a member of IDOR-wide committees assembled to review tax issues.
Requirements
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four years of college preferably with coursework in accounting or finance.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in accounting or finance with related tax accounting work.
- Advanced proficiency using GenTax, MyTax Illinois, or similar tax processing software.
