About the role
- Serves as the Personnel Standards and Education Division’s (PS&E) statewide Testing Coordinator to promote, organize, execute, control, and maintain all confidential examination test banks of questions for firefighter certifications and non-fire service certifications.
- Processes submissions from key stakeholders for examination requests.
- Serves as working supervisor.
- Attends staff meetings, conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
- Participates in supervisory staff meetings, making recommendations for the establishment of new operating procedures or revisions of existing procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requirements
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
- Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
- Requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the development and administration of tests for professional certifications or credentialing in a public or private organization.
- Requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience analyzing and applying established standards to testing protocols in a public or private organization.
- Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
- Requires the ability to pass a background check with self-disclosure of criminal history.
- Requires the ability to pass drug screening.
- Requires the ability to travel, with overnight stays as appropriate.
- Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime.
- This position is considered sedentary work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(a)).
