About the role
- Administering the district Property Management Program;
- Assisting in the implementation of the district Relocation Program;
- Performing any related activities as may be assigned by the Appraisal Manager and district Land Acquisition Engineer.
- Ensuring that the right-of-way will be cleared in time to allow scheduled construction.
- Assisting in establishing the reasonable values for the rental and sale of state-owned property and the uniform application of procedures.
- Providing support for relocation, appraisal and auctioning services regarding sale of excess property.
- Utilizing acquired property in the best interest of the district.
- Performing duties in compliance with departmental safety rules.
- Performing all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of two years of college majoring in engineering, construction management, or related fields PLUS two years of professional experience in real estate, surveying, title work, land acquisition, appraisal, negotiation, property management or relocation assistance or a combination thereof
- OR three years of professional experience in real estate, surveying, title work, land acquisition, appraisal, negotiation, property management or relocation assistance or a combination thereof
- Extensive knowledge of departmental land acquisition policies and procedures as well as corresponding state and federal laws.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively;
- Ability to exercise sound judgment;
- Ability to read and interpret reports, maps, plans, plats, legal descriptions and title abstracts.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with property owners, attorneys, and government officials.
- Valid driver’s license.
- District-wide travel.
- Successful completion of a background screening.
