About the role
- Serves as the agency’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) Coordinator.
- Serves as the Accounting Compliance Officer for the Fiscal Division of IEMA-OHS.
- Assists staff throughout the Fiscal Division on accounting requirements, audits, and reporting.
- Creates, reviews, and makes recommendations to senior leadership on internal controls within the Fiscal Division to help facilitate accurate record keeping, including division policy, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requirements
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in accounting or auditing.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
- Requires certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Requires two (2) years of professional experience utilizing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and performing GAAP financial reporting.
- Requires two (2) years of professional experience working with accounting systems utilized by state and/or federal government agencies or similar accounting systems.
