About the role
- Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs all phases of the food services program for the facility.
- Serves as full line supervisor.
- Coordinates food storage, menu, and supply needs.
- Directs the preparation and maintenance of inventory records (food, supplies, equipment).
- Monitors and assists individuals in custody with dietary work assignments.
- Prepares dietary operational reports as required (daily, weekly, monthly, annually).
Requirements
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with courses in nutrition, dietetics, or food service management.
- Requires three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience.
- Requires possession of either: a) Certification as a Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Commission on Dietetic Registration; OR, b) a Food Service Sanitation Certificate issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
- Must have at least three (3) years of professional experience directing and managing all operations related to Dietary Services for a public or private organization (preferred).
- Must have at least two (2) years of professional experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel (preferred).
