About the role
- Researching and preparing applications for statewide federal funding programs
- Maximizing coordination of rural, small urban public, specialized transportation providers while ensuring compliance with federal and state program requirements
- Providing technical assistance to transportation providers to enhance service coordination
- Reviewing and interpreting changes to regulatory compliance requirements for federal and state operating assistance programs
- Maintaining and updating the Compliance Review and Annual Element Guide and the State Management Plan for all rural federal and state operating assistance grant programs
- Conducting annual onsite reviews for all rural federal and state operating assistance grant program recipients
- Reviewing contractual agreements for compliance with federal and state program guidelines
- Developing and providing training on various service coordination and compliance requirements for both internal staff and program participants
- Partaking in special projects for the Office of Intermodal Project Implementation (OIPI)
Requirements
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree majoring in accounting, business administration, public administration, public finance, criminal justice, legal studies, or transportation planning
- Two years of experience with overseeing grant compliance, managing transit operations, administering state or federal transportation grants, managing audit reviews, and responding to audit findings, or a combination thereof; OR eight years of experience with overseeing grant compliance, managing transit operations, administering state or federal transportation grants, managing audit reviews and responding to audit findings or a combination thereof.
- Requires a valid driver’s license.
- Requires occasional statewide travel which may include overnight stays.
- Requires successful completion of a background screening.
