About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and engage potential customers through various channels, including cold calling, networking, referrals, and digital outreach
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing customers
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand customer goals and recommend customized solutions
- Present product features, benefits, and value propositions in a clear, compelling, and professional manner
- Generate qualified leads and maintain an organized pipeline using CRM systems
- Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and key performance indicators while maintaining quality standards
- Prepare and deliver personalized proposals and presentations tailored to customer needs
- Guide customers through the entire sales process, from initial consultation to closing and beyond
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all customer interactions, sales activities, and follow-ups in the CRM
- Stay current with product knowledge, industry trends, market developments, and regulatory requirements
- Provide exceptional ongoing customer service, including policy reviews, renewals, and customer support
- Collaborate with team members and management to develop and refine sales strategies and best practices
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns with empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to resolution
- Organize your time effectively to balance prospecting, client meetings, administrative tasks, and professional development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven sales experience or demonstrated success in a customer-facing role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping others
- Ability to analyze customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
- Proficiency with CRM software and general computer applications
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet ambitious sales targets
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain professional relationships
- Problem-solving mindset with resilience in handling objections and challenges
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field (Preferred)
- Prior experience in a consultative sales environment (Preferred)
- Knowledge of industry trends and market dynamics (Preferred)
- Experience with lead generation and pipeline management (Preferred)
- Familiarity with negotiation techniques and closing strategies (Preferred)
- Certification or training in sales methodologies or customer relationship management (Preferred)
- Bilingual capabilities (a plus for our Portland market) (Preferred)
