About the role
- Strategic AI integration: You identify and assess opportunities for AI applications across our entire supply chain (from demand forecasting and inventory optimization to transport control) and develop roadmaps for their implementation.
- Data-driven optimization: You use AI tools and models to analyze complex logistics data, generate more accurate forecasts (e.g., predictive inventory, demand forecasting), dynamically optimize transport routes, and detect potential supply chain risks early.
- Process innovation: You challenge existing logistics processes and redesign them using AI and automation to significantly increase efficiency, transparency and sustainability (e.g., CO2 reduction).
- System orchestration: You work closely with IT, data science and operations teams to implement and validate AI solutions and ensure their smooth operation.
- You manage interfaces between different systems (ERP, WMS, TMS, AI platforms).
- Development of digital twins: You drive the creation of digital replicas of our supply chain to simulate scenarios, run stress tests and prepare strategic decisions based on data.
- Knowledge transfer & change management: You act as our internal ambassador for AI in logistics. You explain complex topics clearly and support colleagues in adopting and using the new data-driven processes.
- Risk and resilience management: You use AI to proactively identify vulnerabilities in the supply chain and develop strategies to increase resilience against disruptions.
Requirements
- Solid SCM/logistics expertise: You have a strong foundation in supply chain management or logistics (degree in logistics, SCM, business administration, industrial engineering or comparable training/experience).
- Strong analytical skills & data affinity: You enjoy working with data, recognizing patterns and solving complex problems in a structured way.
- Initial experience with analysis tools (BI, Excel) or even scripting (e.g., Python) is a strong plus.
- Enthusiasm for AI & technology: You are curious about the possibilities of AI and machine learning in the logistics context and ideally have had first contact with AI applications or concepts.
- Process-oriented thinking & drive for optimization: You think in end-to-end processes and continuously look for ways to make operations more efficient and smarter.
- Strong communication & persuasion skills: You can communicate complex technical and analytical matters clearly and win stakeholders at various levels for new solutions.
- Initiative & drive to shape solutions: You do not wait but proactively identify improvement potentials and drive their implementation.
- Willingness to learn & curiosity: You want to continuously deepen your knowledge in the fast-evolving fields of AI and digital logistics.
