About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independent preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB)
- Support in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and in consolidation processes within the corporate group
- Monitoring and continuous improvement of closing and reporting processes with respect to quality and adherence to deadlines
- Management of central areas of financial accounting and ensuring smooth operational processes
- Reconciliation of general ledger and sub-ledger accounts as well as intercompany allocations
- Act as a competent point of contact for external auditors, consultants and internal departments
- Organize and support annual financial statement audits, tax audits and operational audits
- Provide technical support to management on financial and accounting matters
- Assist with tax-related matters and the preparation of statutory filings and regulatory reports
- Identify optimization potential within finance processes and implement improvements
- Further develop digital workflows, reporting tools and automation solutions
- Participate in company-wide projects related to finance, reporting and compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in finance, accounting or controlling, or an equivalent qualification (e.g., IHK-certified Bilanzbuchhalter)
- Several years of practical experience in accounting, financial bookkeeping or financial statement preparation
- Solid knowledge of accounting under HGB and confident handling of financial statements
- Knowledge of group accounting or consolidation processes is an advantage
- Confident manner in dealing with external auditors, tax advisors and internal stakeholders
- Practical experience with ERP systems, ideally within modern Microsoft-based environments
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and a strong numerical and process-oriented mindset
- Enthusiasm for digital transformation, process optimization and modern finance organizations
- Structured, independent and goal-oriented working style
- Strong communication skills, analytical thinking and a high degree of personal responsibility
- Good English skills for communication with international contacts
