About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB)
- Support the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and consolidation processes within the corporate group
- Monitor and continuously improve closing and reporting processes with regard to quality and timeliness
- Manage central areas of financial accounting and ensure smooth operations
- Reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts as well as intercompany settlements
- Act as a professional interface for external auditors, consultants and internal departments
- Organize and support annual financial statement, tax and operational audits
- Provide technical support to management on financial and accounting matters
- Assist with tax-related issues and the preparation of statutory filings
- Identify optimization opportunities within financial processes and implement improvements
- Develop digital workflows, reporting tools and automation solutions
- Participate in company-wide projects related to finance, reporting and compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in finance, accounting or controlling, or a comparable qualification (e.g. certified balance sheet accountant / Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK))
- Several years of practical experience in accounting, financial accounting or financial statement preparation
- Solid knowledge of accounting under HGB and confident handling of annual financial statements
- Knowledge of group accounting or consolidation processes is an advantage
- Confident presence with external auditors, tax advisors and internal stakeholders
- User experience with ERP systems, ideally in a modern Microsoft environment
- Advanced Excel skills and a strong numerical and process-oriented mindset
- Enthusiasm for digital transformation, process optimization and modern finance organizations
- Structured, independent and goal-oriented way of working
- Strong communication skills, analytical thinking and a high level of responsibility
- Good English skills for communication with international contacts
