About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary on-site technical resource for commissioning and startup, ensuring systems meet design specifications.
- Lead troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and control systems, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Coordinate on-site with contractors, plant personnel, and internal stakeholders to drive progress and maintain schedules.
- Perform system diagnostics on rotating equipment, VFDs, and control components to ensure reliable performance.
- Conduct inspections, assessments, and preventative maintenance, identifying and addressing potential issues early.
- Provide hands-on training to operators and maintenance teams on proper system operation and upkeep.
- Generate clear field service reports documenting conditions, root causes, actions taken, and recommendations.
- Act as a liaison between field operations and engineering, communicating findings and supporting improvements.
- Lead post-installation support, including warranty service, follow-ups, and system optimization.
- Maintain professional communication with customers, providing guidance and reinforcing JMS’s role as a trusted partner.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, or equipment installation/startup
- Strong mechanical aptitude (rotating equipment, mechanical assemblies, etc.)
- Basic troubleshooting of control panels (motors, VFDs, basic control panels)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently in the field
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
