About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Audit legacy systems to identify content for migration, archiving, or deletion
- Map legacy content to the new information architecture and templates
- Transfer digital assets using automated tools, scripts, or manual entry
- Reconstruct page layouts according to design and brand specifications
- Audit migrated pages for content accuracy and data integrity
- Verify and update header hierarchies, internal links, and redirects
- Optimize media assets with proper scaling and descriptive alt text
- Ensure pages meet accessibility and web performance standards
- Implement technical SEO best practices, including canonicalization and semantic structure
- Manage website content day to day and clean content for messaging, branding, and accessibility consistency
- Provide guidance on university content guidelines
- Assist the Associate Director for Communications with website visual design, usability, multimedia, and strategic planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent
- Three years of related experience
- Additional education may substitute for required experience under the JHU equivalency formula
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze data and apply learnings
- Understanding of website user experience conventions and best practices
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Familiarity with CMS platforms including AEM, Drupal, WordPress, Sitecore, or proprietary systems
- Familiarity with migration platforms including ShareGate, BitTitan, Metalogix, or AvePoint.Data
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets, Jira, and Confluence skills
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media Design, Communications, Marketing, or related field
- Preferred experience with web-based content management systems, JavaScript, JQuery, Drupal, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Successful candidate subject to a pre-employment background check
- Faculty, staff, and students must receive the seasonal flu vaccine, subject to stated exceptions
