About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments and enroll clients in case management and refugee employment programs
  • Develop individualized short- and long-term case management plans focused on self-sufficiency
  • Provide referrals and coordinate services with partner agencies, county providers, schools, healthcare systems, and government entities
  • Assist clients with benefits renewals, subsidized housing applications, medical appointments, and public transportation
  • Facilitate home visits and educate clients according to service plans and goals
  • Advocate for clients to understand and access available resources
  • Collaborate with interpreters, volunteers, mentors, interns, caseworkers, and employment specialists
  • Travel across Allegheny County and Washington County for in-person meetings, group sessions, and office hours
  • Facilitate individual and group sessions supporting learning, resource sharing, skill-building, and social connection
  • Participate in outreach to immigrant and underserved communities
  • Maintain accurate service, progress, and milestone documentation in Apricot and paper files
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy compliance
  • Support volunteers, mentors, and interns involved in program activities
  • Perform additional tasks supporting program goals and the organizational mission

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience providing services to refugees and immigrants in the United States or overseas is preferable
  • Creativity, innovation, curiosity, and patience
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Top-level organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Comfortable making home visits throughout the region
  • Comfort inputting information into data systems
  • Ability to work well with caseworkers, employment specialists, interpreters, and others
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences among diverse clients and staff
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Access to a vehicle is required
  • First-person immigrant experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree is a plus
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
