About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and prioritize the Accounting product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and technical feasibility to maximize delivered value.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Accounting, Product Management, Development, Quality Assurance (QA), Professional Services, and Customer Success teams to define and deliver innovative financial solutions.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into epics, user stories, workflows, and clear acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure a shared understanding of priorities.
- Write functional specifications that support financial operations while adhering to accounting principles and enterprise architecture.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or in a similar role within an enterprise software environment.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Hands-on experience with accounting ERP solutions, including: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets, Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Cost Accounting, and Project Accounting.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and month-end and year-end close processes.
