About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Set the technical bar for chatbot systems and shape the prompt engineering team's future work
Maintain sound chatbot architecture as it scales
Build automations for record disputes, email/callout reduction, and document validation
Evaluate emerging AI technologies such as voicebots and computer-use agents
Decide which technologies to invest in next
Build and ship AI systems to production
Partner with OpenAI to evaluate and deploy next-generation voice models and workflow automation
Build the next-generation AI system for insurance quoting, document validation, stateful phone interactions, and direct navigation of external insurance systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years in software engineering
Experience ideally at an early-stage startup with end-to-end ownership
Hands-on depth with AI and ability to build with newly released models
Ability to explain why one AI architecture or approach is superior to another
Experience putting LLM-based systems into production
Experience with evals, regressions, latency, cost, and failure-handling
TypeScript, including Nest.js and React
GraphQL
AWS, including ECS/EKS and Lambda
LLM models including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini
Must currently reside in an eligible hiring location: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Ontario, Canada
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada
