About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the safety, performance, and daily operations of the Field Service team
  • Lead, train, mentor, and support Field Service Technicians
  • Monitor field operations for safety compliance and conduct field safety audits and training
  • Oversee material orders, manage on-time delivery, and adjust schedules
  • Guide technicians in diagnosing product failures, damage, and workmanship issues
  • Assist with on-site repairs, evaluations, and inspections
  • Maintain documentation of service activities
  • Prepare detailed customer reports with photos, issue descriptions, and product identification
  • Ensure timely resolution of customer issues and maintain customer satisfaction
  • Liaise between customers and the field service team
  • Review team expense reports bi-weekly
  • Attend and document water testing and resolve identified issues
  • Ensure readiness with proper tools, equipment, and materials
  • Travel regularly by air and ground transportation for site visits and team oversight
  • Work at heights above 50 feet and lift up to 75 pounds regularly
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Reside within reasonable commuting distance of a major commercial airport, preferably within VPI core service regions
  • 5–10 years of experience in the vinyl window/door industry or manufacturing
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record
  • Proficiency with hand tools including drills, saws, levels, and tape measures
  • Knowledge of window, door, glass, and glazing repair methods
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Clear, concise communication skills
  • Ability to guide and mentor a technician team
  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
  • Ability to prioritize customer and company requirements
  • Ability to remain calm and de-escalate conflicts
  • Experience using laptops, phones, and iPads
  • Ability to apply specialized repair procedures
  • Proficiency with Office 365, Cantor, SharePoint, UKG, Autodesk, My Apps, and Concur
  • Ability to work at heights above 50 feet using MEWPs, scaffolding, and boom lifts
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly
  • Willingness to work frequent overtime
  • Frequent travel with typical return home on weekends
