About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute daily, weekly and monthly accounting activities to ensure timely workflow and recording of all financial transactions
  • Responsibilities include running reports, preparing journal entries, preparing accruals, account reconciliations, creating standard work and improving the accuracy and timeliness of the close process
  • Maintain SGA accounting and standard accounting processes for fixed assets, CIP projects
  • Partner with sales, marketing and finance to enhance existing methodology for reporting and analysis
  • Assists in the monthly accounting close, working with the admin departments, accounting and finance team as required
  • Reviews departmental statements for thoroughness and accuracy
  • Assist with monthly management reporting
  • Assist in development of financial preparation of capital and expense requests
  • Provide close financial support for the department managers, assisting them with SGA expense tracking/planning
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, and internal audit to improve the existing internal control environment
  • Identify areas of improvement and recommend improvements
  • Create/Maintain/Track and produce month end Journal Entry and reporting for Customer Annual Rebates
  • Maintain/Track and produce month end entries related to capital display projects including expense to budget tracking, capitalization, amortization and retirements
  • Maintain strong communication between the sales/marketing/executive teams, finance and accounting
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and other tasks in support of the business unit operations and finance staff as required
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and controls covering broad areas including data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.)

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Fundamental understanding of core accounting concepts, including the relationship between the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
  • Strong financial acumen with knowledge of financial accounting, fixed asset accounting and controls, and internal control principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work as a self-starter
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience with SAP, COUPA, OneStream consolidation tools, and/or data analytics tools
  • Experience managing customer rebates
