About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Coordinate and support external audits and tax-related activities.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Monitor general ledger activity and account reconciliations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency.
  • Support cash management and working capital initiatives.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support business objectives.
  • Assist with ERP system enhancements and financial reporting tools.
  • Bring a comfort with technology to the role, recommending tools and improvements to the Chief Accounting Officer and helping implement them to streamline workflows.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) to document key accounting processes and promote consistency.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA, CMA, or other higher education degree/designation is preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Live in and around the Greater Austin area.
