JBS Food CanadaApprentice Millwright at JBS Food Canada maintaining and installing industrial machinery and equipment in Brooks, Alberta facility. Performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and working on power transmission systems.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Construct foundations for machinery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
- 2 or more years in a maintenance function
- Demonstrated experience in hands-on support of operations, technical and maintenance work teams (inclusive of time spent as a millwright/industrial mechanic apprentice)
- Must be Registered as an Apprentice in Alberta
- Technical strength coupled with good people skills, and good planning
- Basic computer skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Rotating and stationary equipment maintenance experience
- Foundation in Preventive and predictive maintenance systems
- RPS/RCM maintenance troubleshooting techniques
- Superior skills within your area of expertise
- Must be available for Shift Work
