About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Plans manpower requirements in accordance with sanitation requirements
Manages and ensures the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) are followed
Manages and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Provides teams with committed leadership on lean manufacturing principles and continuous process improvement techniques
Trains and develops hourly staff on the operation and routine maintenance of pertinent equipment
Facilitates achievement of Company objectives in terms of quality, targets and customer service targets
Tracks and monitors hourly staff attendance
Conduct accident investigations within the sanitation areas

Requirements

What you’ll need

Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations, including WHMIS
A strong commitment to workplace safety
Community college/university education or equivalent combination of related experience and education
Ability to lead, motivate, train, and manage a teams of sanitation workers
Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications, particularly Word and Excel
Familiarization with food safety and productivity requirements of the meat/food processing industry
Management/supervisory experience
Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills
