About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own Revenue Personally Carry Your Quota: Carry a clearly defined individual sales quota and consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
  • Prospect Daily: Prospect using a multi-channel approach, including cold calling, in-person outreach, networking, referrals, and company-generated leads.
  • Build the Pipeline: Build, manage, and maintain a strong and accurate sales pipeline through disciplined follow-up, forecasting, and activity tracking.
  • Stay Consistent: Maintain consistent prospecting activity to ensure a healthy pipeline and predictable revenue growth.
  • Execute the Full Sales Cycle Identify & Qualify: Identify and qualify prospective clients through outreach, discovery conversations, and on-site meetings.
  • Assess Needs: Conduct facility walkthroughs and needs assessments to understand cleaning requirements, service expectations, and decision criteria.
  • Present Value: Develop, present, and defend customized proposals and pricing solutions that clearly communicate value and differentiate Jani-King’s services.
  • Close the Deal: Negotiate contract terms and close new business, maintaining ownership of the deal from first contact through signed agreement.
  • Hand Off Cleanly: Ensure a smooth and professional handoff to operations and franchise support teams following contract execution.
  • Be a Visible, Field-Based Producer Sell in the Field: Spend the majority of time actively selling in the field, meeting face-to-face with decision-makers and conducting facility walkthroughs.
  • Represent the Brand: Represent Jani-King at local networking events, chambers of commerce meetings, trade shows, and community business functions.
  • Build Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships across the local business community to support referrals, repeat business, and long-term growth.
  • Pipeline, Reporting & Collaboration Track Activity: Accurately track sales activity, pipeline status, and results using company systems and CRM tools.
  • Report Forecasts: Provide regular updates on activity levels, opportunities, and forecasts to regional leadership.
  • Collaborate: Collaborate closely with operations, franchise support, and administrative teams to support customer satisfaction and smooth service transitions.
  • Keep Developing: Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development activities.
  • Professional Standards & Accountability Represent with Integrity: Maintain a professional image and represent the Jani-King brand with integrity.
  • Follow the Process: Follow established sales processes, pricing guidelines, and documentation requirements.
  • Know the Market: Stay informed on service offerings, industry trends, and competitive activity within the local market.
  • Deliver Results: Consistently demonstrate accountability, follow-through, and results-driven performance.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in outside sales, B2B sales, or a quota-driven, high-activity sales environment
  • Demonstrated success prospecting, presenting, negotiating, and closing new business
  • Comfortable owning a full sales cycle and being held accountable to individual revenue goals
  • Strong cold-calling and business development skills, with persistence and consistent follow-through
  • Confident, professional communicator with the ability to present value to business owners and decision-makers
  • Highly organized with strong time management, prioritization, and pipeline management skills
  • Self-directed, competitive, and motivated by performance-based compensation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems for tracking activity and managing opportunities
  • Experience selling services, contracts, or recurring-revenue solutions strongly preferred
  • Experience in janitorial, commercial cleaning, or facilities-related services is a plus, but not required.
