About the role
- Spearhead the development of performant shaders and visual tools to support high-quality art creation.
- Collaborate with artists to design, build, and maintain tools, processes, and pipelines that improve efficiency and workflow for artists.
- Develop technical solutions using scripting or programming languages within production applications.
- Assist other artists with technical challenges and provide guidance on best practices.
- Profile and optimise the game, shaders, and systems to ensure smooth performance across the project.
- Support the wider Tech Art initiative by identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions.
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration with multiple disciplines to deliver technically sound and visually compelling results.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of shaders and the rendering pipeline, with particular expertise in Unreal Engine’s Material system.
- Good understanding of Blueprints and Unreal workflows.
- A self-motivated, pragmatic individual who takes ownership of their work from start to finish.
- Eagerness to learn, grow, and continually improve both technical and artistic skills.
- Ideally, a portfolio showcasing creative, technically innovative work.
