About the role
- Lead the industrial engineering efforts for new large factor assembly and data center infrastructure facilities across the US, from conceptual design through to full operationalization.
- Develop and implement optimal facility layouts, material flow strategies, workstation designs, and production line balancing to maximize throughput and minimize waste.
- Conduct detailed process analysis, time studies, and value stream mapping to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in new facility designs.
- Utilize advanced simulation tools and industrial engineering methodologies to model, analyze, and predict the performance of proposed facility designs and operational processes.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design engineering, manufacturing operations, supply chain, IT, and construction to ensure seamless integration and alignment of industrial engineering principles.
- Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for new facilities, establishing baseline metrics and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain industrial engineering standards, best practices, and playbooks for new facility deployments.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, automation solutions, and manufacturing equipment to enhance operational efficiency and future-proof facility designs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior industrial engineers and project teams.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation outlining facility designs, process flows, cost analyses, and projected operational benefits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering roles, with significant experience in greenfield or brownfield facility design and implementation for large-scale manufacturing or data center operations.
- Proven expertise in facility layout optimization, material handling systems design, process flow analysis, and capacity planning.
- Strong proficiency in industrial engineering tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, simulation software like Arena/FlexSim, process mapping tools).
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Understanding of data center infrastructure requirements, including power, cooling, network, and security, is highly desirable.
