About the role

  • Design, program, and implement Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems for new and existing production lines.
  • Develop and integrate robotic systems, including programming, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for automation-related issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality, to identify automation opportunities and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including schematics, program logic, and operating procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance personnel on automation equipment and systems.
  • Stay current with emerging automation technologies and recommend their application to improve operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies in all automation activities.
  • Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the plastics molding or medical device industry.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI development.
  • Experience with industrial robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, Universal Robots).
  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and vision systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
