About the role
- Design, program, and implement Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems for new and existing production lines.
- Develop and integrate robotic systems, including programming, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for automation-related issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality, to identify automation opportunities and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including schematics, program logic, and operating procedures.
- Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance personnel on automation equipment and systems.
- Stay current with emerging automation technologies and recommend their application to improve operational efficiency and product quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies in all automation activities.
- Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the plastics molding or medical device industry.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI development.
- Experience with industrial robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, Universal Robots).
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and vision systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
