About the role

  • Manage all aspects of commercial tooling, including component repair, tool‑related OEE, and tooling analysis for repair or refurbishment
  • Sustain mold health through hands‑on troubleshooting, analysis, and coordination of repair activities
  • Serve as the tooling subject matter expert for workcell managers and customers
  • Act as the primary point of contact between internal teams, the toolroom, and external tooling vendors
  • Develop program‑driven mold specifications and solicit tooling quotes from approved vendors
  • Prepare purchase requisitions and place tooling orders through internal purchasing systems
  • Provide tooling cost estimates to support RFQs and commercial proposals
  • Prepare and present tooling status reports for customers and internal stakeholders
  • Support mold supplier evaluations and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL)
  • Ensure tooling conforms to Jabil standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with NPI tooling engineers to capture lessons learned and support new tooling introductions
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain) to solve commercial and technical challenges
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling reliability, cost, and performance
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Extensive experience in tooling engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably medical injection molding
  • Senior‑level expertise supporting commercial programs and customer‑facing tooling activities
  • Proficiency with ProENGINEER (Creo) and/or SolidWorks
  • Strong background in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), specifically in medical injection molding
  • Experience with CAE tools and analysis methods
  • Hands‑on experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex tooling issues
  • Strong understanding of mold construction, refurbishment strategies, and lifecycle management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to interface effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal leadership
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tooling programs and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
