About the role

  • Drive technical excellence and process standardization for Plastic Injection Molding at a Global level.
  • Provide leadership in Scientific Injection Molding (SIM) implementation, molding technology development, tool and process feasibility support for NPI, and global SME development.
  • Lead global deployment of Scientific Injection Molding (SIM) best practices across sites, ensuring operational discipline from NPI through mass production.
  • Define, develop, and execute a global plastics processing training strategy — from beginner levels through SME and Trainer certification.
  • Support business development by providing technical guidance for quoting, feasibility, and customer-facing technical engagements.
  • Drive NPI readiness via process simulations, mold design reviews, early process feasibility validations, and initial mold trials.
  • Lead proof-of-concept evaluations and scaling for advanced molding technologies (cavity pressure sensing, RJG CoPilot, Kistler ComoNeo, closed-loop systems).
  • Collaborate with tooling engineering for aligned processing and tooling strategies.
  • Support site molding operations with technical troubleshooting, DOE, root cause analysis, and escalation management.
  • Develop and maintain global processing standards, documentation templates, and best practice libraries.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical career development for molding engineers globally.
  • Communicate effectively at all organizational levels including executive leadership, site operations, and customers.

Requirements

  • Expert-level knowledge of Injection Molding Processing, Scientific Injection Molding (SIM) principles, and associated tooling/mold technologies.
  • Strong technical expertise in mold validation, DOE, root cause analysis, and new mold introduction (T1/T2 trials through PQ/OQ).
  • Demonstrated experience with processing monitoring systems (e.g., RJG CoPilot, Kistler ComoNeo) and sensor integration (cavity pressure, temperature sensors).
  • Knowledgeable in Manufacturing Systems (MES integration for molding preferred).
  • Ability to structure and deliver technical training programs globally.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; effective oral and written communicator across technical and executive levels.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology.
  • Project management and team leadership skills with ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, lead cross-functional teams, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related technical discipline required.
  • RJG Master Molder Certification(s) preferred (Master Molder I and II); RJG Train the Trainer Certification highly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years recent experience in injection molding process development, NPI support, and manufacturing operations, preferably in a global or multi-site environment.
  • Experience managing teams or technical initiatives across multiple manufacturing locations is preferred.
