About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate the cause and origin of failures, damages, or defects in mechanical systems
- Analyze the failure of mechanical systems and evaluate construction quality
- Perform field investigations and documentation of damaged property
- Prepare accurate and clear reports for clients detailing opinions and conclusions
- Maintain relationships with current clients and consultants
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience within insurance or legal forensics
- Active Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Willingness to participate in expert witness work
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Flexibility to travel and accommodate approximately 30–50% travel
