About the role

  • Lead the Finance & Accounting team with a focus on general ledger, fixed assets and accounts payable
  • Ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day accounting, specifically: general ledger maintenance including preparation of financial statements for the German entities, accounts payable including invoice verification, and fixed asset accounting
  • Actively participate in and support organizational changes to increase the team’s efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure uninterrupted end-to-end processes and group-wide harmonization of accounting procedures in the general ledger and sub-ledgers to secure optimal data quality
  • Perform sample checks and audit-related controls (internal control system, IKS), analyze deviations and initiate appropriate corrective actions
  • Develop and monitor relevant KPIs as a basis for continuous improvement, focusing on reducing non-value-adding activities and promoting automation and digitalization
  • Serve as the point of contact for auditors, including auditors of foreign subsidiaries where applicable
  • Ensure completeness of financial data for subsidiaries to be consolidated
  • Take ownership of SAP general ledger processes

Requirements

  • Certified Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) / business economist (Betriebswirt) or degree in business/economics (Bachelor/Master)
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in a comparable role
  • Knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and German Accounting Standards (DRS)
  • Cross-module experience with ERP systems, with deep expertise in SAP FI/CO
  • Knowledge of the invoice processing workflow and related systems (e.g., SmartInvoice)
  • Experience applying AI or automation in finance processes
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead teams in a motivating and supportive manner
  • Business-fluent German and English
  • Advanced proficiency in Office 365, particularly Excel
