About the role

  • Directs and manages the implementation of customer contracts, announcements, and promotions, setting sales objectives and standards, completing deductions and bill backs.
  • Maintains customer relationships by presenting promotional opportunities, attending food shows and other events, and performing other duties as required.
  • Secure new accounts by making cold calls, conducting research into new accounts, sending product samples, meeting with contacts, and performing other duties as required.
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  • Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-ups.
  • Identify and resolve customer concerns.
  • Consistently deliver on agreed targets for case volume, net sales, and revenue growth.
  • Implement and drive go-to-market strategies and supporting tactics.
  • Develop new business opportunities and relationships with key customer targets which result in increased revenue and profitability for Izzio Artisan Bakery.
  • Collaborate with customer and distributor partners to develop sound sales execution plans that drive value and growth.
  • Provide "Day to Day" account management, including rapid turn-around & effective resolution on operational, logistical, and pricing issues.
  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously, while keeping the company’s long-term goals in mind when addressing short-term issues.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of regional/territory sales experience in Food Service distribution sales required, preferably in an Artisan Bakery setting.
  • Strong sales and marketing acumen.
  • Energetic, proactive, takes calculated risks, and perseveres to attain goals.
  • Experience in sales planning and tactical execution.
  • Position requires extensive travel and the willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • The successful candidate will be a “Hunter” first, with a strong farming ability.
  • Previously demonstrated success in achieving incremental product placement with operators and distributors resulting from specific initiatives.
  • Ability to survive, thrive in opportunistic and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and spoken communication and presentation skills needed.
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
