About the role
- Provide VAT technical support to Head of Indirect Taxes and the business (rates, partial exemption, rebates, integration of new businesses)
- Manage, support and review outputs of VAT Associates preparing VAT returns across the Group
- Manage the VAT control framework and identify/implement process improvements while ensuring MTD compliance
- Provide ad hoc project support (ERP implementation, M&A and restructuring advice)
- Collaborate closely with commercial operations and international colleagues
- Directly manage a team of VAT Associates and report to Head of Indirect Taxes
Requirements
- Qualified accountant or tax advisor
- Several years’ post-qualification with evidence of CPD
- Experience in practice or industry (or combination)
- Proven track record in VAT
- Working knowledge of VAT across multiple territories
- Ability to understand and explain technical VAT issues
- Ability to quantify, communicate and manage VAT risk
- Effective communicator; build relationships with international colleagues and third-party advisors
- Strong time management; manage multiple projects concurrently
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, changing environment
- Desire to identify improvements and drive change
