About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the internal and external R&D engineering focal point for overall product technology
Maintain product architecture knowledge covering requirements, design, applications, technical roadmap, customer pain points, and technology trends
Lead product technology exploration, innovation, development, and deployment
Drive development and updates of multi-generation product technology strategy and roadmaps
Direct global functional engineering and application teams on new product/application development and sustaining activities
Work with the ITW innovation center on new technology exploration, research, assessment, and competitive intelligence
Represent EAE to customers in product technology strategy and roadmap sessions
Own IP strategy, roadmap, and development
Capture voice of customer, market trends, and priorities and translate them into multi-generation product and technology roadmaps
Lead the R&D core team in new product development projects
Provide input on resources and timelines for new development projects and initiatives
Represent ITW-EAE as a product technical leader in meetings, conferences, and forums through participation, presentations, training, and contribution

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience with end-to-end reflow soldering product development, including concept, design/development, testing, launch, and post-launch support
Strong understanding of the reflow soldering process and applications
Good understanding of reflow solder technology trends
Knowledge of major reflow products globally
Experience interacting directly with customers and gathering voice of customer (VoC)
Ability to conceptualize new ideas from marketing/customer requirements and develop short- and long-term technology roadmaps
Demonstrated effective collaboration with global, cross-functional teams
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering required; Master’s preferred
10+ years of relevant experience in product design, development, technology management, or process/application development
Preferred: exposure to machine learning, intelligent machines, and artificial intelligence applied to reflow soldering
Preferred: experience of reflow thermal profile development
Preferred: effective communication and presentation skills for global, cross-functional teams
Preferred: high proficiency in problem solving
Preferred: experience developing technical value propositions
Preferred: ability to manage projects
