Serve as the primary point of contact at the help desk, responding to inquiries in person, by phone, and by email
Collect, record, and process payments of fees in accordance with established procedures and federal requirements
Verify payment accuracy, issue receipts, and maintain detailed transaction records
Reconcile daily collections and prepare deposit reports
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and applicable regulations
Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial and personal information
Provide courteous and professional customer service to individuals from diverse backgrounds
Assist with periodic audits and reporting as required
Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned
Process payments related to fees collected on behalf of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from individuals who have overstayed their permitted stay within the United States
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible accounting or financial clerical experience
Position requires a CBP Government security clearance which can take 2-3+ months to process and must be complete prior to candidate starting work
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices, cash handling, and reconciliation procedures
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work with individuals in sensitive or stressful situations with tact and professionalism
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting systems
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable regulations
