About the role

  • Deliver robust features across the entire Java-based stack, all deployed on Kubernetes.
  • Drive modernization: implement upgrades, eliminate technical debt, and evolve the cloud-native architecture.
  • Serve as deputy to the Team Lead — step in when needed and act as an intellectual sparring partner who elevates the team.
  • Own complex initiatives end-to-end with determination, initiative, and clear communication.
  • Maintain relentless code quality: unit and integration tests, code reviews, and clean coding standards.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to design pragmatic solutions that deliver real-world outcomes.
  • Mentor teammates, promote knowledge sharing, and raise the team's technical bar.
  • Integrate third-party systems and work closely with external partners to maximize impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 5+ years of professional Java development in full-stack environments.
  • Proficiency in Java (17+), hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, and strong software architecture skills.
  • Experience with Vaadin — or the willingness and ability to ramp up quickly.
  • Proven agile delivery experience, with automated testing and peer code reviews as standard practice.
  • Ownership mindset: proactive, outcome-driven, and motivated by responsibility.
  • Strong mentoring and collaboration skills; committed to raising team standards.
  • Professional-level English (C1), both written and spoken.
  • Bonus: experience with mobile (Android/iOS/Ionic), Kubernetes/cloud-native environments, or third-party integrations.
