About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You will be part of the team responsible for managing the profitability calculation engine for investment portfolios.
Consolidate information from multiple systems and play a key role in delivering daily profitability figures and issuing portfolio statements.
On a day-to-day basis, you will work on batch pipelines orchestrated by routines (Shell) that execute HQL scripts to produce structured outputs for daily loads, ensuring reliability, governance, performance and traceability.
Ensure the engine continues to deliver with high reliability and performance: high-volume processing in a Hadoop environment with data stored in AWS S3 (buckets) and consumed by critical flows.
Implement enhancements and fixes in HQL/Shell routines, supporting business rules for profitability/returns and ensuring end-to-end consistency.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer supporting critical production pipelines.
Strong command of SQL and hands-on experience with HQL (Hive) and/or Impala in Hadoop environments.
Experience with high-volume batch processing.
Knowledge of data modeling and data structures.
Proficiency with AWS environment and tools (Glue, SNS, S3, Athena).
Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MySQL, DynamoDB).
Clear communication skills to translate complex problems into concrete actions with multiple stakeholders.
