Lead the technical direction of the team while remaining a key individual contributor in designing and implementing self-service tools and platforms
Guide and mentor senior engineers on the team, while also directly enhancing the developer experience by optimizing CI/CD pipelines, automating manual tasks, and reducing build times.
Lead the team in building and managing scalable and reliable infrastructure on AWS
Maintain and improve our container orchestration and deployment tools, leveraging Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD
Collaborate with engineering teams to understand their needs, gather feedback, and create solutions that directly address their pain points.
Promote best practices in areas like code quality, testing, and security, integrating them directly into the development pipeline.
Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation and tutorials for all internal developer tools and platforms.
Drive the technical roadmap for the DevEx team, balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic goals.
Develop, implement, and maintain a set of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve the developer experience across all of Engineering.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or lead role.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience with researching and selecting new/modern developer toolsets and assisting teams in adopting them including vendor assessments, security assessments and procurement process.
Strong working knowledge of AWS, including EKS, ECR, RDS, SQS/SNS, VPC, MWAA and S3.
5+ years of experience with Kubernetes and containerization in general, including associated tools.
3 or more years working with AWS EKS deployments, runtime, and monitoring.
Strong knowledge of AWS costs and how to reduce them.
TCP/IP networking, including routing and AWS security groups.
Excellent knowledge of CI/CD concepts and experience developing associated pipelines.
Proficient in high-level scripting languages, including shell scripting, Python, and/or JavaScript.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk or DataDog.
Experience with evaluating and rolling out GenAI tools for improving developer efficiency.
Working knowledge of automated software testing concepts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts with experience implementing them.
