About the role

  • Architect and hands-on leader of Island’s global BDR function: hire, train, and coach BDRs from scratch
  • Establish team culture, set performance expectations, and build a high-energy, accountable environment
  • Develop the BDR playbook: lead gen strategies, outreach cadences, qualification frameworks, and pipeline handoffs
  • Roll up your sleeves to test, iterate, and improve outbound efforts across channels (phone, email, social)
  • Monitor KPIs and team performance; use data-driven coaching and process improvement
  • Work closely with sales leadership and marketing to align on ICP, messaging, and lead sourcing strategies
  • Lead global expansion of the BDR team — manage time zones, cultures, and scaling needs
  • Select, implement, and optimize prospecting tools (dialers, sequencing tools, enrichment tech)
  • Be hands-on: jump into calls, review messaging, and lead by example
  • Scale the team from 0 to 10, 20, or even 50 BDRs across multiple regions quickly

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in BDR/SDR leadership, with a background in hiring, building, and scaling teams
  • Experience managing global or distributed teams is a major plus
  • Strong grasp of modern outbound strategies and the tools that power them
  • Builder mentality: you’ve created processes, not just followed them
  • A natural coach and motivator — ability to push team to hit goals and grow professionally
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Deep collaboration experience with sales, marketing, and operations partners
  • SaaS experience required
  • Cybersecurity enterprise experience is a bonus
  • Must be 100% in-office at Coppell, TX headquarters (Monday through Friday)
