About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities and ensure timely, accurate, documented financial results
- Review or prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting schedules
- Maintain general ledger integrity and reporting quality
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, U.S. GAAP, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate internal and external audit support and respond to audit inquiries
- Identify control gaps, recommend improvements, and support remediation
- Partner with Finance, FP&A, Tax, and other stakeholders on accounting matters and business decisions
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex and non-routine transactions, including ASC 842 lease accounting
- Prepare documentation and analysis for recommendations, audit readiness, and leadership decisions
- Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff; set expectations, provide feedback, and manage performance
- Prioritize work, allocate resources, remove barriers, and ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
- Lead improvements to accounting processes, systems, reporting workflows, and controls
- Streamline manual processes and strengthen accounting infrastructure in partnership with cross-functional teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and close management
- 3+ years of experience managing accounting staff and overseeing financial processes
- Experience with financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end/year-end close processes
- Experience ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Experience supporting audits and maintaining effective internal controls
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
- Strong analytical skills and financial data analysis and reporting experience
- Proficiency in NetSuite, Salesforce, Concur, and Avalara platforms
- Experience managing an Accounts Payable team, including payments to foreign entities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting standards
- Working knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting
- Strong business partnering and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Experience managing teams or in accounting supervisory roles
- Ability to manage multiple projects and ongoing daily work seamlessly
- Periodic onsite attendance may be required based on business needs
- Occasional travel may be required
