About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Organize and perform activities for the consolidation of financial statements and the preparation of the financial statements of ISA ENERGIA BRASIL and its subsidiaries, in accordance with current Brazilian accounting standards (pronouncements issued by the Comitê de Pronunciamentos Técnicos (CPC)), corporate law and the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), regulatory rules of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) and international standards (IFRS).
- Monitor and implement improvements in the accounting close processes, ensuring internal controls (SOX), as well as the accuracy, integrity and quality of information; seek integration with peer areas; support audits; and contribute to strategic decision-making, always in compliance with market best practices and established deadlines.
- On a monthly basis, execute and analyze activities related to the calculation of the equity method (equity in earnings), ensuring deadlines and the quality of information.
- Perform and analyze activities for the consolidation of financial statements, correctly applying consolidation methods.
- Reconcile the accounts under the responsibility of the Consolidation and Reporting area, identifying issues, seeking guidance and proposing adjustments when necessary.
- Provide information for the financial statements in accordance with Brazilian accounting standards, ANEEL regulatory accounting rules and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Respond promptly to external audits.
- Coordinate with departments to follow up on the implementation of improvements to the close processes.
- Support and participate in discussions on the implementation of new functionalities and process improvements for Consolidation and Reporting.
- Apply Internal Controls (SOX).
- Monitor and support the implementation of new accounting standards.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (statutory and regulatory), ensuring the consistency and quality of information disclosed to the market (regulatory bodies, market analysts and investors).
- Act as an interface with areas integrated with Consolidation and Reporting.
- Prepare regulatory and IFRS performance indicators (dashboard) and perform flash analyses comparing actual vs. actual.
- Support the review of trial balances and reports submitted by subsidiaries, jointly verifying that accounting practices are consistent with those of ISA ENERGIA BRASIL, proposing changes where necessary. Obtain explanations for significant variances identified in analytical review. Guide subsidiary teams in adopting new accounting standards. Monitor subsidiaries’ critical issues together with external audit.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and registration with the Regional Accounting Council (CRC).
- Experience with account reconciliations and monthly closing.
- Experience in consolidation of financial statements.
- Knowledge of the equity method.
- Experience in preparing financial statements.
- Experience supporting external audits.
- Knowledge of accounting standards (CPC/IFRS).
- Experience with consolidation and financial reporting processes.
- **Differential technical requirements**
- Experience implementing or following up on new accounting standards.
- Experience in a regulatory environment (e.g., ANEEL, CVM).
- Knowledge of internal controls (SOX).
