Purchasing Analyst (Mid-level), PcD

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the procurement process for medium- and high-complexity goods and services, meeting business stakeholders’ requirements on time, reducing costs, minimizing contractual risks and satisfying the needs of ISA units and their affiliates.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, internal customers and Group ISA companies both within Brazil and internationally.
- Work with moderate autonomy alongside buyers at the headquarters in Colombia on centralized categories. Apply analytical skills to drive results and implement process improvements.
- Perform comparative analyses to support efficient purchasing decisions.
- Challenge technical specifications to identify cost efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procurement-related regulations.
- Improve internal policies and procedures to increase procurement efficiency while ensuring corporate governance, working with other departments to identify opportunities and propose innovations.
- Understand internal customers’ Procurement Plans and act proactively with requesting areas.
- Seek synergies across the procurement plans of different business areas to optimize activities and achieve cost efficiencies.
- Update process status in the tool provided by the company.
- Conduct due diligence and verify scope alignment when identifying new suppliers to optimize costs and ensure material and service quality.
- Perform market benchmarks to obtain comprehensive references on potential new suppliers.
- Maintain appropriate supplier relationships according to corporate strategy, developing knowledge of contracted products and services.
- Ensure suppliers are able to meet demand under the best conditions of cost and quality, in accordance with ethics and compliance guidelines.
- Equalize proposals technically and commercially; prepare information required for cost breakdowns; analyze and recommend negotiation strategies based on cost breakdowns.
- Understand the requesting area’s budget and incorporate it into negotiation strategy.
- Negotiate final prices, payment terms and commercial conditions for the acquisition of materials or services.
- Prepare comparative price matrices containing contracting process information and submit them for approval according to the company’s approval limits.
- Draft supply or service contracts in accordance with the company’s legal standards and procedures.
- Negotiate contract clauses that impact pricing, balancing contractual risks and pricing.
- Announce new contract approvals to main users and clarify questions related to the business line.
- Support resolution of issues related to deliveries, quality or discrepancies with suppliers.
- Create accurate purchase orders to ensure correct invoice payment without rework.
- Monitor and create action plans for the commercial execution of contracts, ensuring suppliers meet agreed terms (e.g., quality, discounts, delivery deadlines).
- Register new items under contracts and ensure their maintenance in the system.
- Update prices based on parametric formulas, triggers or renegotiation.
- Know the area’s performance indicators with a focus on improving results.
- Meet corporate savings targets and other departmental goals, collaborating with peers toward common objectives.
- Develop strategic sourcing for procurement categories or master/umbrella contracts in line with the company’s strategic alignment.
- Collaborate with peers to share best practices and achieve local and regional gains.
- Comply with and enforce internal regulations, identify and report compliance risks, provide guidance, raise awareness and promote anti-corruption and anti-bribery topics, health, hygiene and occupational safety standards, quality management systems and environmental preservation, as well as the use of PPE/EPC (Personal Protective Equipment / Collective Protective Equipment) where required by the activity.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related fields.
- Postgraduate specialization in procurement or supply chain is desirable.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Proficiency in Ariba (mandatory) for managing procurement processes.
- Experience with engineering services, especially in contexts related to technical projects.
- Knowledge of geotechnical processes, including surveying and drilling/topography activities.
- Experience with Strategic Sourcing processes, managing competitive bids and negotiating with suppliers.
- Experience in structured procurement processes, interfacing with technical and operational areas.
