About the role
- Manage and coach a team of senior & staff-level engineers, supporting their technical leadership, career growth, and cross-team influence
- Create clarity around ownership, decision-making, and accountability at scale
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, autonomy, and high craftsmanship
- Define and drive the technical vision for shared backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities used across product teams
- Ensure services are scalable, secure, observable, and resilient
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural integrity
- Oversee the evolution and governance of our front-end design systems to ensure consistency, performance, and usability across products
- Collaborate with Product leadership to shape roadmaps that align platform capabilities with business priorities
- Identify and evangelize improvements in developer productivity, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and code quality
- Lead large-scale cross-team initiatives with measurable impact
- Ensure predictable delivery of high-impact initiatives
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying scalable backend and frontend systems (Python, Django, FastAPI, React preferred)
- 4+ years of experience leading engineering teams
- Experience building or scaling platform or shared services teams
- Proven success driving large, cross-functional technical initiatives in SaaS environments
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, API design, and service architecture
- Experience establishing or evolving front-end design systems
- Experience operating in high-growth startup environments with increasing organizational complexity
- Strong ability to balance technical depth with organizational leadership
- Required to work on-site 3x a week in our Miami office (Coral Gables).
