About the role

  • Manage and coach a team of senior & staff-level engineers, supporting their technical leadership, career growth, and cross-team influence
  • Create clarity around ownership, decision-making, and accountability at scale
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, autonomy, and high craftsmanship
  • Define and drive the technical vision for shared backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities used across product teams
  • Ensure services are scalable, secure, observable, and resilient
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural integrity
  • Oversee the evolution and governance of our front-end design systems to ensure consistency, performance, and usability across products
  • Collaborate with Product leadership to shape roadmaps that align platform capabilities with business priorities
  • Identify and evangelize improvements in developer productivity, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and code quality
  • Lead large-scale cross-team initiatives with measurable impact
  • Ensure predictable delivery of high-impact initiatives

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying scalable backend and frontend systems (Python, Django, FastAPI, React preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience leading engineering teams
  • Experience building or scaling platform or shared services teams
  • Proven success driving large, cross-functional technical initiatives in SaaS environments
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, API design, and service architecture
  • Experience establishing or evolving front-end design systems
  • Experience operating in high-growth startup environments with increasing organizational complexity
  • Strong ability to balance technical depth with organizational leadership
  • Required to work on-site 3x a week in our Miami office (Coral Gables).
