About the role
- Lead Project Design: Direct third-party architectural and engineering teams in the design of North American data center projects, providing oversight for budgets, schedules, and high-quality product delivery.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Interface with internal finance, sales, and operations teams, as well as external consultants and equipment manufacturers, to validate build programs and deliver critical infrastructure projects.
- Support Business Growth: Assist in evaluating potential data center acquisitions and support the sales engineering team by providing technical insights necessary to pursue new business opportunities.
- Manage Procurement: Oversee the procurement of long-lead, owner-furnished equipment to ensure project timelines and standards are maintained.
- Ensure Standards & Compliance: Maintain a responsible platform of inclusion and diversity while ensuring all designs meet Iron Mountain standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Extensive Experience: At least 10 years of experience in design and construction project delivery, with a minimum of 5 years specifically managing project management teams.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of complex electrical, mechanical, life safety, and control systems associated with critical facilities or data centers. Knowledge of national and local building codes.
- Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to manage complex design programs and build strong relationships with key suppliers, business partners, and internal customers.
- Professional written, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
- Compliance & Mobility: US Citizenship is required, along with the ability to travel 25% (including overnight and international travel as needed).
