About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair mammography imaging systems, including fixed and rotating gantry assemblies.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electromechanical gantry components, including motorized arms and rotational assemblies, compression paddles and drive mechanisms, bearings, counterbalances, encoders, belts, lead screws, positioning sensors, interlocks, and safety systems.
  • Perform system level fault isolation across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
  • Conduct mechanical alignment, motion verification, and system calibration in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Restore system operation following mechanical failure, component wear, or functional misalignment.
  • Support system installations, relocations, and de installations, including gantry assembly and disassembly, mechanical alignment, and post installation functional validation.
  • Perform hardware and software updates following approved service procedures.
  • Verify system performance after repairs, modifications, or upgrades.
  • Accurately document troubleshooting activities, repairs performed, parts replaced, and system status in service management systems. Follow applicable MQSA, FDA, radiation safety, and internal quality system requirements.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Technology, or related technical discipline OR equivalent combination of education and relevant field experience.
  • 3–5+ years of hands on experience servicing medical imaging equipment or complex electromechanical systems.
  • Direct experience with mammography systems or closely related imaging platforms (e.g., X ray, fluoroscopy, C arms, CT gantry assemblies).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting mechanical motion systems, rotating assemblies, or precision electromechanical structures.
  • Strong skills in electromechanical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and OEM service documentation.
  • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and alignment or calibration equipment.
  • Ability to safely handle, secure, and align gantry subassemblies during service activities.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver components up to 70 lbs with appropriate assistance.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work around imaging equipment for long periods.
