About the role
- Define the system architecture and create initial prototypes.
- Work with teams to build a product running at scale in tier 1 telcos globally.
- Solve system-of-systems problems in computer vision, AI/ML reasoning, and sensor data ingestion.
- Collaborate closely with a Principal Product Manager for product vision and goals.
- Deliver initial prototype in 3 months, alpha version in 6 months, and a live customer in 12 months.
Requirements
- Experience in building large-scale distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Complex data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and real-time streaming frameworks.
- Sensor-driven computing: computer vision, telemetry systems, OTDR/test equipment data, geospatial data.
- Knowledge graphs, graph databases, semantic/ontology-based modelling, or advanced schema-driven systems.
- Designing architectures that unify heterogeneous data sources into coherent decision-making frameworks.
- Experience of building systems on at least one major cloud vendor’s platforms (AWS preferred).
- Performance and scale: demonstrable experience of architecting and building systems that can ingest and process millions of events per day.
- Hands-on: enjoy writing code and building prototypes, as well as helping to guide others in the productization phase.
- Comfortable with uncertainty: a lot can be unknown to solve.
- Ability to lead and influence with a track record of working with multiple engineering teams to deliver complex products.
- Communication: ability to debate and present to varying audiences.
- Curiosity: a willingness to learn across different domains (AI, fibre networks, etc.).
- Willingness to travel to other IQGeo offices (Denver, Ghent, Paris) for approximately one week per quarter.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
