About the role

  • Leads the development and execution of Ipsos’ thought leadership content across North America and within US Public Affairs for Ipsos.
  • Cultivates and leverages strong relationships with journalists and pollsters at prominent media outlets (e.g., CNN, The New York Times, ABCNews, Washington Post, etc.)
  • Spearheads the creation of high-profile media releases for significant events like elections and major media clients such as ABCNews and The Washington Post.
  • Oversees a weekly/monthly newsletter and podcast/webinars (?) disseminating key polling data and analysis to clients, media contacts, and internal Ipsos stakeholders.
  • Serves as a media spokesperson, representing Ipsos on air and in print
  • Represents Ipsos doing webinars, panels, and industry conferences, develop and delivering presentations, and sharing expertise.
  • Co-leads client relationship management, serving as a key media contact
  • Reviews and checks public release materials produced by other Ipsos service lines, ensuring they comply with Ipsos’ Media Release Policy, providing editing and guidance to internal teams and clients.
  • Mentors and develops junior team members, including data journalists, enhancing their writing and analytical skills
  • Driving business growth - expectation of an 40%/60% split between development of new business and launching/advising new projects to ensure high quality delivery and managing junior staff to achieve project goals
  • Collaborating with methodologists and sampling/weighting teams to improve Ipsos’ data collection and sampling assets (KnowledgePanel) to maintain top quality data delivery for Ipsos clients.
  • Serving as a senior leader on the team to ensure junior staff are trained and prepared to deliver highest quality work; understands and leads in the development in data collection and analysis tools
  • Consulting with Client Thought Leadership team to improve client data story delivery – to drive compelling and market impactful thought leadership in requisite areas of expertise

Requirements

  • 15+ years in the areas of public polling, public policy, and strategic communications consulting
  • MA/MBA/PhD/Above or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in public polling questionnaire development, survey program and sample management
  • Experience overseeing social science research projects, including complex survey programs and analytical products
  • Knowledge of social science research methods and ability to advise clients on issues of research and sample design
  • Strong dynamic speaking skills and a commitment to developing and disseminating thought leadership.
