Medical Science Liaison Manager – Oncology
IpsenMedical Science Liaison Manager in Oncology for Ipsen Pharma, working in West Germany to engage with KOLs and support scientific education. Identify and synthesize medical information while maintaining strong relationships across the healthcare landscape.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and develop relationships with national and regional medical and scientific Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in line with Medical Affairs objectives and overall Ipsen strategy
- Engage in compliant scientific exchange and education on current and emerging therapies with KOLs (including advisory boards, one-to-one meetings, and congresses)
- Build and maintain scientific, clinical, and therapeutic expertise in Oncology
- Represent the company at accredited continuing medical education events, medical meetings, and scientific conferences
- Support clinical development as required by identifying and engaging appropriate sites for Ipsen trials and by contributing disease insights that can inform product differentiation
- Differentiate Ipsen as the preferred scientific partner through innovative initiatives, coordinated strategy, and clear scientific communication
- Provide scientific, clinical, and educational support to internal cross-functional stakeholders (including other MSL team members)
- Support medical publications as needed (abstracts, manuscripts, etc.)
- Support commercial operations by participating in Speaker and Representative Training
- Lead or participate in special project teams as necessary
- Support cross-functional teams to ensure patient-focused operations, including timely responses to internal and external requests and provision of medical affairs support for specific clinical situations and challenges
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced scientific, healthcare, or medical degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD)
- Clinical or research background in medicine/paramedicine (hospital and/or academic research, pharmaceutical industry research, or medical affairs)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an MSL or related role
- Previous and recent experience in Oncology is an advantage
- Proven track record and successful experience as an MSL or medical department professional
- Experience delivering scientific presentations and developing relationships with Thought Leaders
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize and communicate medical information clearly
- Knowledge of data analysis and statistics, and familiarity with legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements and guidelines
- Team player with a solution-oriented approach and strong communication skills
- Willingness to travel approximately 60–80% (depending on geographic scope)
- Business fluent in German and English
