About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including job advertisements, interview scheduling, candidate communications, reference checks, background screening, and pre-employment requirements
  • Prepare employment offers, agreements, onboarding and offboarding documentation, and orientation materials
  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records in the HRIS and personnel files
  • Process employee status changes, including hires, transfers, promotions, leaves, and terminations
  • Monitor HR records for organizational and legislative compliance
  • Respond to routine employee inquiries and escalate complex matters to the HR Business Partner
  • Coordinate employee benefit and retirement plan enrolment, changes, and terminations
  • Support leave programs, accommodations, wellness initiatives, policies, and HR programs
  • Support performance management, employee engagement, and recognition programs
  • Coordinate HR information for payroll processing
  • Maintain HR forms, templates, policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate HR meetings, interviews, training sessions, and employee communications
  • Track recruitment activity, applicant records, and recruitment metrics
  • Coordinate mandatory training and maintain training records
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive HR matters
  • Support health and safety documentation and reporting
  • Generate HR reports, workforce metrics, and dashboards; assist with audits and data validation
  • Identify HR process and administrative efficiency improvements
  • Support special HR projects and organizational initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with COVE policies, safety, operational standards, employment legislation, and HR procedures
  • Take on additional responsibilities supporting COVE’s programs and strategic initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a Human Resources or administrative support role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality, sound judgement, and discretion
  • Working knowledge of employment standards legislation and HR best practices
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration
  • Knowledge of HRIS platforms, databases, and M365 applications
  • Fluency with people data
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • CPHR designation or candidate is an additional asset
  • Ability to comply with COVE policies and procedures, including human resources, safety, and operational standards
